Accessibility Statement
Last updated: August 12, 2026
We want SeeNote, a tool whose entire purpose is making dense documents easier to read, to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. This statement covers the seenote.co website and the SeeNote Chrome extension.
Standard we aim for
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by most accessibility regulations worldwide.
What is implemented on this website
- Semantic HTML landmarks (navigation, main content, sections with labeled headings) for screen reader navigation.
- Full keyboard operability: every interactive element, including the live demo's footnote popups, can be reached and activated with a keyboard. The demo also supports arrow-key and Escape navigation, mirroring the extension itself.
- Text alternatives: decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology; meaningful controls carry accessible names via ARIA labels.
- Color contrast meeting AA ratios for body text against the dark background, and information never conveyed by color alone.
- Reduced motion: all scroll and hover animations are disabled when your system requests
prefers-reduced-motion. - Responsive layout that supports 200% zoom and reflows on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
The extension
Keyboard-first operation is a core design goal of SeeNote, not an accessibility afterthought: opening, chaining, and closing footnote popups works entirely from the keyboard, and popups are announced to screen readers as dialogs with focus management. We will publish an updated statement covering the shipped extension at launch.
Known limitations
- The interactive demo reproduces authentic EDGAR filing formatting, including justified text and dense financial tables. This mirrors the real reading environment but is inherently visually dense; the demo content is also provided in the surrounding descriptive text.
- SEC filings themselves are third-party documents; SeeNote displays them verbatim and cannot repair accessibility deficiencies in the underlying filing.
Feedback and contact
If you encounter any barrier using this website or the extension, please tell us: hello@seenote.co (subject line "Accessibility" helps us prioritize). We aim to respond within a few business days and to fix verified barriers as quickly as possible.
