Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This policy describes what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. The honest summary: almost nothing, on purpose.
In one paragraph: the SeeNote extension processes SEC filings entirely inside your browser and sends us nothing. The only personal data we hold is the email address you give us when you sign up on this website, which we use to email you about SeeNote. Unsubscribe at any time, or email us and we delete you from the list.
1. Data the extension collects: none
The SeeNote Chrome extension runs entirely locally on your device. It reads the SEC filing page you are viewing on sec.gov in order to make footnote cross-references clickable, and that processing never leaves your browser. Specifically, the extension:
- sends no page content, browsing activity, or usage data to us or to anyone else;
- requires no account and stores no personal information;
- contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind;
- requests browser permissions limited to sec.gov only.
Which filings you read is your business. By design, we cannot see it.
2. Data the website collects: your email, if you give it
If you sign up for early access or pre-order on seenote.co, we collect the email address you enter and whether you chose early access or a pre-order. That's the whole record. Pre-ordering collects no payment details and charges nothing; it records intent only.
The signup form is the only data collection on this site. We run no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, and no social media trackers.
3. Cookies and your choices
By default this site sets no tracking cookies. A consent banner lets you choose which optional categories, if any, you allow:
- Essential — always active. Covers the basic operation of the site and the signup form; sets no tracking cookies.
- Analytics — off by default. If you opt in, anonymous usage statistics may be collected to improve the site.
- Marketing — off by default. If you opt in, campaign-measurement cookies may be set if you arrived from an ad or a launch post.
Nothing in an optional category loads unless you opt in. Your choice is stored on your own device and you can change it any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
4. What we use your email for
- A welcome email confirming your signup (and, for pre-orders, your locked launch price).
- Notifying you when SeeNote launches, and occasional significant product updates. No drip campaigns.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. We will never sell, rent, or trade your email address to anyone.
5. Where your data lives
Signup data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and processed by Cloudflare Workers (our infrastructure provider) and Brevo (our email delivery provider). Both act as processors on our behalf and are bound by their own data processing agreements. We do not share your data with any other third party unless required by law or a court order.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Unsubscribing stops all emails immediately; if you want the record fully deleted from our database, email hello@seenote.co and we will delete it within 14 days and confirm.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, under applicable data protection law, including the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA or UK and the CCPA if you are a California resident. Given what we collect, exercising any of these amounts to one email to hello@seenote.co.
8. Security
All traffic to seenote.co and our API is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to the subscriber database is restricted by authenticated tokens held only by the operator. We hold no passwords and no payment data: there is no account system, and payments at launch will be handled by a dedicated payment processor that does not share card details with us.
9. Children
SeeNote is a professional tool for reading securities filings and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is material, for example if a future version of the extension ever collects any data, we will say so prominently, and it will remain true that the verbatim reading experience sends nothing anywhere.
11. Contact
Questions about privacy: hello@seenote.co. We answer within a few business days.
